Chris Powell (aka Comedian CP) is a writer and performer recently named to Vulture's "The Comedians You Should and Will Know of 2025" list. His stand-up comedy special, "Sunday After Six," was selected as one of the 33 best specials of 2025 by the Los Angeles Times. More recently, CP has served as a writer/producer and performer on series such as BET+'s "Diarra from Detroit," BET's "The Hospital," and Hulu/Onyx's "How to Die Alone" (winner of the Independent Spirit Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Scripted Series). Prior to these projects, CP starred in the second season of the HBO Max anthology series "Love Life." Previously, CP had a development deal with CBS for the 2019–2020 season after landing a lead role in their pilot, "History of Them." He also starred in OLE BUD'S ANU FOOTBALL WEEKLY, a special he co-created for Adult Swim, and portrayed "Ned" in the acclaimed Comedy Central series DETROITERS. Before entering the entertainment industry, CP was a promising young advertising executive in Detroit. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has appeared in EMPIRE, performed in ALL DEF COMEDY (HBO), and created and starred in the pilot THE D for TBS.
